The new update for Grounded 2, titled “Hairy and Scary,” has officially dropped for all players, adding a chilling new boss, as well as a bunch of handy building tools and fixes. The “Hairy and Scary” update brings players face-to-face with Axl, a terrifying tarantula boss. Defeating this fearsome creature unlocks several themed rewards like the Tarantula Armor set, new weapons like the Bow and Spear, and exciting decorations for your base. A shiny new building grid system called BUILD.M aims to spice up construction, making it easier and more engaging. Plus, if you’re playing during October, you can experience a spooky Halloween-themed update featuring candy corn and a special Trick-or-Treatery Building!

Looking down the road, more updates for Grounded 2 are on the way! This winter is set to bring Steam deck support, new Ladybug Buggy vehicles, and enhanced bug varieties, along with Tiers of fresh equipment. Come summer 2026, the game will introduce even more gear and innovative building materials—all designed to expand your gameplay experience and bring in newer enemies and challenges.

If you’re subscribed to Xbox Game Pass, you can jump right into Grounded 2. However, be aware that the price went up recently; the Ultimate tier is now $29.99 instead of $19.99, and this change will take effect for current subscribers starting November 4.
