You can dive right in and get Alice settled, but getting the enigmatic Cheshire Cat to join the crew is another story. It takes some serious game-play to convince this mysterious feline to make your valley his new home. Don’t fret, though—once you clear some quests, life gets a lot easier.
Unlocking the Cheshire Cat: Your To-Do List
Before you can even think about the final quest to welcome the Cheshire Cat, make sure you’ve completed a few necessary tasks:
- Alice’s “Leaving Wonderland” quest
- Mannequin Madness
- Chaos in the Kitchen
Once those are ticked off your checklist, you’ll unlock the Cat Tree Catastrophe mission where the real fun begins!
Completing the Cat Tree Catastrophe Quest
To kick off this quest, chat with Alice. She’ll inform you that Moana needs a hand due to a little hiccup with her boat. Head over to Moana, who’ll reveal her canoe is overrun with purple catfish—classic Cheshire Cat mischief!
- Tip: Snap a pic of the catfish on Moana’s canoe, and they’ll vanish.
Now, you’ve got to catch five more purple catfish off the coast of Dazzle Beach. Here’s the catch: these fish can ONLY be fished from orange ripples. When I fished, all five came up at once, so I didn’t have to worry about leaving and coming back!
After you’ve bagged all five, return to Alice.
Time for a Chat with the Cat
When you get back, Alice will suggest visiting her house. There, you’ll find the Cheshire Cat chilling in the middle of the room. He’ll request your help in locating a miniature version of his tree.
- Pro Tip: Head to Alice’s bedroom and look behind the bookcase for a painting of the Cheshire Cat’s tree. Snap a photo with it, and a mini version of the tree will magically appear on the floor!
Take this back to the Cheshire Cat, and he’ll tell you he prefers the outdoors. Now, place the tree anywhere you like in your valley, and voilà—Cheshire Cat is officially a resident!
You’ll have a brief welcome chat, but don’t expect a usual “Welcome” screen like you would get with other villagers. The good news is, once he’s moved in, you can give him gifts and start leveling up your friendship, even if he did give you a bit of a workout with all those quests!
