October 2025 Yu-Gi-Oh Master Duel Banlist Update: 10 Cards Affected
Yu-Gi-Oh Master Duel is shaking things up with its latest banlist update for October 2025, targeting some of the game’s top decks. This digital trading card game from Konami has kept players on their toes with recent Selection Packs that brought powerful new cards, highlighting archetypes like “Ignister,” “Nekroz,” and “Gem-Knight.” Despite these additions, two decks, Maliss and Ryzeal, have emerged as the real powerhouse strategies.

Since their debut, both “Maliss” and “Ryzeal” have taken the game by storm. Maliss is known for its toughness, utilizing a vast array of Cyberse support cards, while Ryzeal infuses new life into Rank 4 Xyz Monsters, boasting an impressive lineup. However, changes are coming as these decks gear up for the upcoming season.
Earlier this week, a new banlist was unveiled, with “Number 41: Bagooska the Terribly Tired Tapir” being the only newly banned card. This Rank 4 Xyz Monster has been a game-changer, able to immobilize foes and negate their Monster effects. To level the playing field, three cards are now limited: “Maliss P Dormouse,” “Maliss in Underground,” and “Gold Sarcophagus,” greatly impacting the Maliss strategy. Players can expect this banlist update to go live on October 8.

This latest update is set to reshape the competitive landscape. With Ryzeal largely untouched except for the loss of Bagooska, it still has plenty of strategies to play with. On the flip side, Maliss users will feel the pinch as they lose key cards that started their plays. Expect dynamic shifts in Yu-Gi-Oh Master Duel‘s competitive scene come October!
